Modesto, CA – Don’s Mobile Glass in Modesto, California can handle just about any glass related project. From windshields for vintage cars to custom windows for homes to art projects. There was a stark contrast between the rows of perfectly crafted car windshields and an employee cutting mason jars for a customer’s craft project, but there was clearly intensive care put into both. With over 200 employees, it’s clear why Don’s Mobile Glass is the largest flat glass distributor in the area.
Jacques Navant gave us a tour of the impressive facility with Sika’s Butch Paula. With a fully functional shop onsite, Don’s can handle “a little of everything,” as Jacques put it. A showroom is currently being remodeled near the front of the facility. Customers will be able to see finished glass products in various situations to help them envision their own projects. Imagine how helpful it would be to see different window displays when choosing the right one for your home! Jacques even mentioned that there will be a Sika booth in the showroom, to demonstrate how Sika products are involved in the process. Don’s uses the “all in one” SikaTack Mach 60 for automotive glass replacement.
Jacques explained to us that Don’s is very concerned with proper training for working with glass. He showed us an extensive manual focused primarily on the application of SikaTack and other Sika products to be used for training purposes. Don’s is currently constructing an interactive training room to be used for training classes. After hearing everything that will be taught, we are convinced that anyone who finishes this course will be a glass expert. We are looking forward to seeing Don’s completed showroom, and maybe we’ll be able to squeeze into one of the training courses.
