Seattle, WA – The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is the largest private foundation in the world. The foundation is dedicated to confronting social, economic, and health related issues on a global scale. Working with countless partner organizations, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is divided into four programs to achieve its goals. The Global Development Division addresses poverty and hunger in developing countries, while the Global Health Division aims to advance science and technology to save lives. The United States Division is primarily focused on improving education on many levels, and the Global Policy & Advocacy Division is involved with promoting policies and relationships to achieve goals. Although these divisions may have separate goals, each one strives toward Bill and Melinda Gates’ efforts to reducing global inequity.
Even concrete in the world’s largest private foundation requires refurbishment over time. Western Waterproofing has been contracted to refurbish the sidewalks surrounding the foundation’s headquarters. Western Waterproofing is using a mixture of Sikaflex-2c NS and a black sand to reseal the sidewalk’s expansion joints. Also, SikaQuick 2500 is being used for necessary patching. Due to the expertise of Western Waterproofing and the longevity of Sika products, the sidewalk will remain in great shape for years to come. As we’ve learned, the foundation has more pressing issues at hand.
An overwhelming generosity has been shown by the foundation’s leadership committee, including Bill Gates, Melinda Gates, Warren Buffet, and many others. The foundation has been involved in astounding successes with its partner organizations, including reducing global cases of polio by 99 percent, and introducing financial tools to developing countries. The focus of the foundation is not only to tackle these important issues, but also to inspire others to take action. The foundation encourages others to take an active interest in the pressing problems that affect the world on all scales.
