Home Sweet Home!

New York City, NY – After writing more than 100 posts, this is our last one as our amazing adventure is now over!

We would like to thank all Sika’s customers that were so receptive throughout this trip. The pride of Sika’s customers is infectious, so we always left a job site wanting to get more involved. Before this trip we did not understand the level of care and thought put into every construction project no matter the size. Planning and preparation is often more intensive than the installation process itself. As we’ve learned, Sika’s customers are working hard every day across the country to complete successful projects.

We also want to thank the Sika Sales force who did a great job not only in showing us around job sites, but also teaching us about the construction processes. We were really not expecting the level of hospitality from every Sika representative. And of course, thank you to Marlene Morin who organized and planned the entire trip.

We were able to see all kinds of projects on this trip, from churches and libraries to casinos and breweries. We drove through the Everglades in Florida, the Mojave Desert in California, and the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. Matt finally went further west than Pennsylvania. One more time, thank you to everyone for your help! Thanks for reading about our summer with Sika: the end of this trip is now the beginning of new adventures for us within Sika! Looking forward to meeting with you somewhere along the road!

  • After spending yesterday and this morning building and decorating their boats, four teams paraded their vessels before a supportive crowd and then entered the harbor for a race. Once the teams rounded the harbor, the crowd favorites were picked and the Sikaflex trophies were awarded to the well deserving teams. It was great to be part of the #camdenwindjammerfestival and see the fun each team had learning about boat building. #boatbuilding #camdenmaine

  • The Mary Lee Clark and Matilda Harris Elementary Schools shared a problem: they both had leaking standing seam metal roofs. Today both roofs are leak-free and ready to welcome students back to school with the help of the watertight metal look like Sarnafil Decor roof system. “I’m really pleased with the appearance,” Frank A. Neagle, AIA, project architect at Buckley and Associates of Savannah, Georgia, said. “I bet that 95 percent of the time people think it is a metal roof.” #MetalLookAlike #DecorRoof #SikaSarnfil #BackToSchool
